STEM IN OUR CLASSROOMS

 Why STEM?

Our preschool recognizes the importance of implementing STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) in our classrooms. We believe that early exposure to these subjects will help children develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills that will be beneficial for their future academic and career success. Our goal is to provide a strong foundation for our students, so they can confidently navigate the rapidly evolving technological landscape and contribute to the advancement of society.

To achieve this goal, we have integrated STEM activities into our curriculum and have trained our teachers to facilitate lessons that promote curiosity, experimentation, and collaboration. We use age-appropriate tools and resources to engage our students in hands-on learning experiences that encourage exploration and discovery. By creating a fun and stimulating learning environment, we hope to spark a lifelong love for STEM and inspire our students to pursue careers in these fields. We believe that by investing in STEM education, we are investing in the future of our students and our society.

What STEM looks like in our classrooms

At Our Little Flower Buds, we uphold a fundamental component of our approach, which involves imparting children with appropriate activities at the optimal junctures. By identifying and aligning with their developmental milestones, we introduce new skills and concepts to children, thereby fostering a fun and organic learning environment.

We use building blocks to teach children about shapes, spatial reasoning, and problem-solving. We also incorporate coding games and puzzles to introduce basic computer science concepts and help children develop critical thinking skills. Additionally, we offer science experiments and investigations to encourage curiosity and exploration of the natural world. By providing these experiences, we are not only preparing children for future academic success, but we are also fostering a love of learning and a sense of wonder about the world around them.
